Lower Back Pain was the primary reason that most patients first came into my HealthCare Center. The vast majority of the population will have an occurrence of lower back pain (LBP) some time in his/her life. Pain in the low back is much more common than middle back pain, and is the most common of all back pains. Pain in the lower back could be coming from the discs or joints of the spine, muscles around the spine, nerves coming off the spinal cord, or other structures in that area. Pain could also be radiating from an organ or gland like the bladder, kidney, testicle, or ovary. Sometimes pain radiates into the low back from other areas like the groin, mid-back, or upper-back. LBP is often brought on by improper lifting, or awkward bending and twisting movements. These things can cause the lower back to become sprained or strained. Minor Low Back Sprains or Strains will often heal on their own without needing any treatment. Repetitive Sprains or Strains of the Low Back can be the beginning of a Chronic Low Back Pain cycle that may have serious consequences if not properly handled. Of course, sprains and strains are not the only causes of low back pain. There are a lot of reasons for having back pain.
